Faye Robinson

Faye Robinson – Head of Science, Sedburgh Juniors

When were you at Polam?

1992 – 2002

What did you study at Polam?

Biology, PE and Geography

What are you doing today?

Head of Science at Sedbergh Junior School and Deputy Housemistress of Robertson House at Sedbergh Senior School. I was Acting Head of Girls’ Games for one year at Sedbergh Senior School as well. I teach Science from Year 4 to Year 8. As Head of Science I manage all the admin for the department, prepare exam papers, organise trips and workshop days. I coach the 2nd Team Netball Team in the Senior School which involves going away on lots of matches. I also look after seventy pupils aged thirteen to eighteen as Deputy Housemistress, which is great fun.

How did Polam help you to get there?

Polam definitely helped me get to where I am today. Polam gave me ambition, motivation and instilled a good work ethic in me to get to Durham University and then get a job at Sedbergh School.

What’s your best memory of Polam?

Having a great group of friends who I am still in touch with now. We had a great time at Polam with plenty of laughs.

Who was you favourite teacher?

Miss Johnson in the Junior School was super. I was very behind with my work when I came to Polam after being at my local primary school. Miss Johnson really helped me to catch up and I always remember getting the progress prize after my initial first year in which I came on leaps and bounds.
