Boarding Activities

When it comes to taking part in extra-curricular activities, our boarders have the advantage of living on site. This makes it very easy for them to join in the wide variety of sporting and cultural activity on offer without the interruption of travelling to and from home.

Plenty to do

It is not uncommon for boarders to throw themselves into school life with huge enthusiasm, often becoming highly accomplished in their chosen activities as a result. We’ve had boarders who’ve gone on to excel in sport, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, The Army Cadet Force, drama and musical performance, Art and much more.

Our boarders also have access to a wide programme of evening and weekend activities organised specifically for them. These range from educational visits to heritage sites and attractions, through to fun days out at the seaside or theme parks. Less formal weekly activities are also run by boarding staff on a regular basis – such as bowling, outdoor games played in the school grounds, or cinema evenings in the School theatre. Birthdays and other special events are celebrated together.

Productive free time

Outside of Prep time, each boarder is also allocated a certain amount of free time each week, this increasing as they get older. For the younger ones, it gives them time to play outside or use one of the indoor games rooms with friends, while the older students tend to use the time to visit the town or attend a local gym or similar. We have a strict signing in and out system so no one goes off site without permission.
